INTRODUCTION Forest Fund / Fond Forêt (286.8 ha)

L'association Kalaweit crée des micro-réserves pour protéger des zones stratégiques, en Indonésie, sur le long-terme. Ainsi depuis 2011, l'association achète des terrains (via son fondateur qui possède la nationalité indonésienne) pour y exercer un droit de propriété, et ainsi agir efficacement pour protéger les gibbons sauvages, et tous les autres animaux de la forêt. Ces achats sont effectués grâce au "Forest Fund"/"Fond Forêt" de l'association. Elle travaille ainsi avec les populations pour garantir la pérennité de ces espaces, devenus sanctuaires et refuges de la faune sauvage. Nous recherchons en permanence de nouveaux soutiens pour agrandir ces réserves, et en créer de nouvelles.
Kalaweit is setting up micro-reserves to protect biodiversity in Indonesia. Since 2011, Kalaweit has been purchasing land (via his founder "Chanee", who has the Indonesian citizenship), to protect forest through the "Forest Fund" of the organization. In doing so, Kalaweit is saving wild gibbons and all other animals in the forest. Kalaweit is working with local communities to protect these reserves. Kalaweit is always looking for new supporters to extend these conservation areas.
Kalaweit membangun kawasan konservasi di daerah strategis di Indonesia (bagi satwa liar), demi melestarikan keanekaragaman hayati dalam waktu panjang. Sejak tahun 2011, Kalaweit mengamankan hutan dengan membeli lahan (melalui pemilik pribadi yang berwarganegara indonesia yang menyerahkan hak pake ke Yayasan Kalaweit) dan mengajak masyarakat untuk bekerjasama. Kegiatan ini di danain oleh "Dana Hutan" atau "Forest Fund" dari Yayasan Kalaweit. Kalaweit terus mencari dukungan agar memperluas kawasan yang ada, atau membangun kawasan konservasi baru.

Kalaweit Pararawen Reserve (Borneo), 23.6 ha

Now: 23.6 ha

• Sa création date de Janvier 2015. Cette forêt est l'habitat de 2 groupes de nasiques (Une trentaine d'individus), et est limitrophe du centre de Pararawen où sont les animaux recueillis à Bornéo.
• Elle se trouve dans la province centrale de Kalimantan, District de Barito Utara, dans le canton de Lemo.
• 30 % du territoire de ces nasiques se trouve sur les terrains de Kalaweit. L'objectif est de protéger les 70 % restants, en les achetant. Cela permettra à ces singes endémiques de Bornéo et extrêmement menacés, et aux autres espèces (binturongs, gibbons, macaques, etc) d’être aussi protégés.
• C'est une forêt secondaire, de basse altitude (40 mètres au dessus du niveau de la mer), mélangée à des plantations traditionnelles d’hévéas.
• Il est primordial de trouver les fonds nécessaires pour acquérir et protéger plus d'hectares, et ainsi les soustraire aux coupes illégales de bois, au braconnage ou aux exploitants de palmiers a huile.
• Objectif: 30 hectares avant fin 2015
• Its creation date of January 2015. This forest is the habitat of 2 groups of proboscis monkey (around of 30 individuals).
• This reserve is located in Central Kalimantan, in the district of Barito Utara, and the sub-district of Lemo.
• 30 % of their (proboscis monkey) habitat is on Kalaweit land. The objective is to protect the remaining 70 %, by buying them, to secure their habitat, also home of binturongs, gibbons, macaques, porcupines, etc.
• It's a secondary forest (lowland, only 40 meters above sea level) mixed with traditional rubber plantations.
• Target: 30 hectares before of the end of 2015
• Kawasan ini di bangun bulan Januari 2015. Hutan ini adalah habitat untuk 2 kelompok bekantan (sekitar 30 ekor).
• Kawasan ini berada di Kalimantan tengah, Kab Barito Utara, Kecamatan Lemo.
• 30 % dari habitat bekantan tersebut berada saat ini di lahan Kalaweit. Targetnya adalah mengamankan 70 % sisanya, agar mereka aman seperti satwa lainnya yang ada di hutan tersebut yaitu:  owa-owa, kera, binturong, landak, kukang, dll.
• Hutannya adalah hutan sekunder (dataran rendah, hanya 40 meter dari permukaan laut) yang tercampur dengan kebun karet tradisional.
• Targetnya: mencapai 30 ha sebelum akhir tahun 2015

   

Kalaweit Supayang Reserve (Sumatra), 263.2 ha

• La réserve de Supayang a été créée en 2011 avec l'acquisition de 99 hectares. C'est une zone de forêt secondaire et primaire, de très bonne qualité, située à l'ouest de Sumatra, dans la province de Sumatra Barat, dans le district de Solok, et le canton de Payung Sekaki. Elle est en bordure du "Gibbon Conservation Center" où se trouvent les animaux que l'association a recueilli à Sumatra.
• C'est une forêt de moyenne altitude, se situant entre 600 et 1050 mètres, au dessus du niveau de la mer.
• La zone est riche en biodiversité: gibbons, siamangs, ours, chats dorés, panthères nébuleuses, pangolins, tapirs, muntjacs, etc.
• Une équipe de 4 gardes y patrouille tous les jours à cheval, pour lutter contre le braconnage et les coupes illégales.
• Nous recherchons des soutiens pour agrandir cette réserve.

• Kalaweit Supayang Reserve was created in 2011, and is located next to the "Gibbon Conservation Center", where we are taking care of the  animals  rescued by Kalaweit in Sumatra (Province of Sumatra Barat, in the District of Solok, and Sub-district Payung Sekaki)
• This a primary and secondary forest with very high conservation value, from 600 to 1050 meters above sea level.
• This forest is the habitat of gibbons, siamangs, sunbears, pangolins, clouded- leopards, golden cats, tapirs, etc.
• Four Guards patrol the reserve using horses every day in order to prevent illegal logging and poaching.

• Kawasan Kalaweit Supayang di bangun tahun 2011, di sebelah "Pusat Penyelamatan dan rehabilitasi Owa", dimana Kalaweit merawat semua satwa yang di selamatkan (di Sumatra Barat, Kab Solok, Kecamatan Payung Sekaki).
• Hutannya adalah hutan primer dan sekunder, dengan ketinggian antara 600 sampai 1050 meter di atas permukaan laut.
• Kawasan tersebut adalah habitat owa-owa, siamang, beruang, tapir, macan dahan, kucing mas, dll.
• Empat orang berpatroli setiap hari menggunakan kuda untuk mengamankan kawasan ini dari ilegal logging atau pemburuan. .
